At Nine Dots, we have been very interested in exploring what skills are in demand and a well-known training company has just released a report detailing what people have been searching for and what pattern of enquiries they have noticed throughout the pandemic. The report explores the current state of L&D and how Covid-19 has impacted the nation’s demand for different types of training.

Interestingly the report found that in the last 12 months:

• HR training enquiries have grown by 25%
• Management training enquiries have grown by 41%
• Leadership training enquiries have grown by 50%

The pandemic resulted in a huge uptake in communicative technology across the nation in all age groups and with this, they have seen that 72% of organisations now believe that eLearning helps them stay competitive by giving them an opportunity to be agile and keep on top of industry changes.

Also, as a result of Covid-19, 75% of organisations had to change their L&D strategy in response to the pandemic.

One of the main L&D strategy changes that organisations are facing is a change in training budget: 71% L&D professionals said they anticipate their training budget to reduce. However, 83% of respondents weren’t actually aware that government-funded training programmes were available to them.
